На српском језику коначно је доступна темељна интелектуална биографија Жака Лакана, коју потписује Елизабет Рудинеско. Ова књига, изворно објављена 1993. године као својеврстан наставак веома запажене двотомне Историје психоанализе у Француској, постала је у међувремену канонско штиво за све заинтересоване лакановце и њихове опоненте, упоредиво чак и са „званичном“ биографијом Сигмунда Фројда коју је током педесетих година прошлог века, у три дела, објавио Ернест Џонс. Домаћи читаоци већ су могли да упознају Елизабет Рудинеско као писца студије Породица у расулу и коауторку једног од најрелевантнијих Речника психоанализе. Њено широко хуманистичко образовање, с основама у студијама књижевности, богато терапеутско искуство, као и склоност историјском сагледавању феномена и личности о којима пише учинили су је незаобилазном ауторком на пољу психоаналитичких студија.
